Program – 9 May 2019: Time to harvest your data!

Aula Track

12:00 - 13:00

Lunch

13:00 – 13:30
SAP : SAP Analytics Roadmap

13:40 – 14:10
water-link: Data driven meetings done right with SAP Digital Boardroom!

At water-link, the financial department desired to evolve to data driven decision-making based on strategic and operational KPI's. Thanks to the implementation of the Digital Boardroom and SAP Analytics Cloud, water-link is able to evolve to intelligent meetings with a unique user experience that supports interactive insights.

14:20 – 14:50
Agfa: Real time finance reporting with CDS views in Analysis for Office

Real time reporting on financial data is a popular requirement. Not having to wait on dataloads before being able to check postings and immediately see results in reports, sounds familiar? At Agfa, such a concept has been implemented on S/4HANA Central Finance. This presentation will explain the process of delivering real-time AFO reporting on S/4HANA CDS views, from Proof-of-Concept to finished product. We tackle the challenges and key success factors, like performance and (re)usability, but also best practices and lessons learned.

14:50 – 15:10
Networking - Meet the experts of BW/4HANA, Sap Analytics Cloud and Big Data (Foyer)

15:10 – 15:40
Daikin: Centralize your analytics with SAP Analytics Hub

It can be challenging and time consuming to understand your data when your analytics live in discrete environments. SAP Analytics Hub aims to mitigate these issues and improve the business user's experience. The hub works as an access point that links to your diverse analytics, both SAP and non-SAP, while also containing descriptive meta-data and filtering capabilities. During this presentation, we explain the Proof-of-Concept of SAP Analytics Hub at Daikin. Furthermore, we demonstrate the tool's capabilities and show that it can be automatically maintained through its API.

15:50 – 16:20
Machine Whispering: How STIB-MIVB used data and (advanced) analytics to get a grip on vending machine maintenance and usage

Over the last couple of years STIB-MIVB has gotten a better grip on its ticket vending machines. The 42% of the sales revenue that they generate makes them the biggest sales channel, so monitoring their performance is critical. From simple uptime monitoring to crossing datastreams and getting a more comprehensive understanding of their usage to more advanced machine learning and simulations they now have a 360 degree view on this important asset and its maintenance and performance.

16:30 – 17:00

SAP Analytics Cloud Live Showcase

This inspirational session will demonstrate the capabilities of SAP Analytics Cloud for closed loop scenarios from reporting to prediction and planning.

17:00 – 19:00
Networking - Meet the experts of BW/4HANA, Sap Analytics Cloud and Big Data (Foyer)

SAP: How Big Data and Agile Analytics Affect SAP BW/4HANA Architectures

SAP BW/4HANA means simplification and increased flexibility for well-known EDW architectures (LSA++). Despite that we all know that customers are not always happy with such monolithic architectures. Little wonder that agile processes and principles of data lake architectures like ‘load first understand later’ find entry to new SAP BW/4HANA implementations and architecture considerations. Let’s start the discussion of chances and risks merging big data principles and proceedings with DWH best practices.

Ajinomoto’s move to BW/4HANA: The Sequel

With project “Diamond”, Ajinomoto’s has chosen for the future with their SAP technologies. Choosing for migrating to S/4HANA in parallel to BW/4HANA is a challenging project. This presentation will explain the actual move from the older BW 7.3 environment to BW/4HANA with the remote/shell conversion methodology in parallel to being compliant with S/4HANA. We will tackle the approach of the project, the functionality of the migration tasklist, the work required on S/4HANA, the pitfalls and best practices for converting to BW/4HANA.

End-User Reporting: a hybrid Data Mart

At this customer, we are combining non-SAP sources with SAP data using custom Python coded extractors, scheduled in SAP BODS jobs to load the data into our SAP HANA DB. Using star-schema modelling, we are building a user-friendly data mart to allow power users to create self-service reports in Power BI and deploy these reports across the firm. In this session, we will present you a real case of extraction with Python code scheduled in SAP BODS, star-schema modelling in SAP HANA to combine the non-SAP data with SAP data and the resulting reports in Power BI cloud.

Kick-starting Big Data @Agfa

“The secret to getting ahead is getting started.” ― Mark Twain
In this session we detail our Big Data journey, starting from the initial conception, and ending in several finished POC's and a working Big Data platform. Along the road, we'll discuss the overall architecture, business involvement, and the choices we made at each crossing point.

DHL Pharma Logistics: KPI communication to customers using a native data warehouse in SAP HANA

A key challenge in logistics is to agree on specific service levels with customers, to measure the achieved performance and to timely communicate these figures with sufficient root cause analyses to those customers. DHL Pharma Logistics is running a project together with Cubis, to standardize on KPI's and to transparently communicate these KPI's to its customers. The solution is being elaborated by using a native data warehouse in SAP HANA, utilizing the data vault methodology and running in the cloud, and SAP Analytics Cloud as BI client interface. The presentation will provide insights in the project approach, the KPI definition track, the technical architecture and the challenges.

How do you start your big data adventure and what platform do you use?

A difficult question where most companies today are still struggling with. In this presentation we will show you that creating an entry level scalable big data cloud architecture ( that integrates with the sap landscape ) has never been easier.
